The Gimli Ice Festival

As members of the Gimli Art Club we would like to pay tribute to a dear friend, mentor and wonderful artist, Suzanne Barrow.
Suzanne was small in stature but had a great big heart. She joined the Gimli Art Club in 2004, serving in many capacities
including president. She was always involved in something club related and gave her all to whatever she did.

She married the love of her life, George and it was evident especially prior to her passing, how well she took care of him.
​
Suzanne was notably referred to as the “Sky Lady” as she often created beautiful skyscapes in her paintings. Suzanne exhibited her lovely artwork in many places such as
the Art Expo in Winnipeg, MB, Local Colour Club in Elmwood, MB
and the Gwen Fox Gallery and Club in Selkirk, MB.

Suzanne passed away on January 20, 2025. She will be very much missed but through her artwork and friendships she will always be remembered.
Rest in Peace Suzanne.

New ideas present themselves all the time when it comes to creating art. One of those ideas is to try and make it available to anyone who wants to participate, so our executive has decided that Fridays would be a good day to have a Mixed Media Group. This means that all the mediums in workshops during the week with the exception of oil painting (due to allergies and folks who are intolerant of the odors) are being rolled into one session. This is mostly for those who can't attend the other days but still want to attend a weekly group. It will be from 10 - 3 p.m. every Friday except for the last Friday of the month which is Feed Back Friday 1 - 4 p.m. , so on that day mixed media will be 10 - 1 p.m., followed by Feed Back Friday.
